# Reactions, Awards & Thanks
+ The platform offers several ways to express appreciation for content posted by other members.
There are several ways to show appreciation for what other members post.
## Emoji Reactions
Reactions are lightweight, one-click responses you can add to any post or reply.
- Hover over (or tap on mobile) the reaction bar beneath a post.
+ - Select an emoji from the picker. Common reactions include thumbs-up, heart, laugh, surprised, and thinking.
- Pick an emoji. The built-in reactions are thumbs-up, heart, laugh, wow, sad, angry, fire, mind-blown, clap, party, rocket, and on-target.
- Your reaction appears beneath the post alongside reactions from other members.
+ - Click an existing reaction to add your vote to it (the count increments).
+ - Click your own reaction again to remove it.
- Tap the same reaction again to remove yours.

## Post Awards

+ - Awards appear as a highlighted badge on the post.

+ - Awards are available to members who have earned enough karma or who hold a paid subscription tier.
Awards are paid badges. You spend credits to give one, and it appears as a highlighted badge on the post.

To give an award, open the award picker beneath a post, choose an award, and confirm. The cost is deducted from your credit balance. You need enough credits to give the award you pick.
## Thanks Button
The **Thanks** button is a quick way to acknowledge a helpful post without writing a reply.
+ - Click **Thanks** beneath any post.
+ - The author receives a notification: "Member X thanked you for your post in Thread Y."
+ - Thanks counts are displayed on the post and contribute to the "Most Helpful" leaderboard.
+ - Unlike reactions, thanks are one-per-member-per-post and cannot be retracted.
- Tap **Thanks** beneath any post.
- The Thanks count shows on the post.
- Thanks is one per member per post. Tap it again to take it back.
## Tipping

+ If the community has tipping enabled, you can send a small monetary tip to a post author.
+ 1. Click the **Tip** button beneath a post.
+ 2. Select a tip amount from the predefined options or enter a custom amount.
