Thread Features
Threads are the core unit of discussion on the platform. Beyond basic posting and replying, threads support several advanced features that help organize and highlight content.
Pinning
Moderators and admins can pin a thread to keep it at the top of a forum listing.
- Pinned threads display a pin icon and a colored highlight.
- A forum can have multiple pinned threads; they are sorted by pin date (most recent first).
- To pin a thread, open the thread actions menu (three-dot icon) and select Pin Thread.
Locking
Locking a thread prevents new replies while keeping the existing content visible.
- Locked threads display a lock icon in the thread list.
- Any member can still read a locked thread, but the reply box is disabled.
- Moderators and admins can lock/unlock a thread from the thread actions menu.
- A lock reason is optional but recommended — it appears as a banner at the bottom of the thread.
Best Answer
In forums that have the Q&A format enabled, the thread author or a moderator can mark a reply as the Best Answer.
- The best-answer reply is highlighted with a green checkmark and pinned to the top of the reply list.
- A "Solved" badge appears on the thread in forum listings.
- The author of the best answer receives karma and a "helpful" stat increment.
To mark a best answer, click the checkmark icon on the reply you want to select.
Staff Pick
Moderators can mark a thread as a Staff Pick to recommend it to the community.
- Staff-picked threads display a star badge.
- They appear in the "Staff Picks" widget on the community homepage.
- This is separate from pinning — a staff pick is a recommendation, not a positional override.
Crossposting
You can crosspost a thread to additional forums beyond its original location.
- Open the thread actions menu and select Crosspost.
- Choose one or more destination forums.
- The thread appears in those forums with a "Crossposted from [Original Forum]" label.
Replies are shared across all crossposted locations — there is one unified discussion thread.
Sponsoring a Thread
Thread authors can sponsor their thread to give it increased visibility.
- Sponsored threads appear in a highlighted "Sponsored" section at the top of forum listings.
- Sponsoring uses platform credits or a direct payment, depending on community configuration.
- The sponsored period is configurable (1 day, 3 days, or 7 days).
Bumping
If a thread has not received a reply in a while, the author can bump it to move it back to the top of the forum listing.
- Each member gets a limited number of bumps per day (typically 1-3).
- Bumping adds a "Bumped by [Author]" notice to the thread.
- The bump count resets daily.
Cover Images
Threads can have an optional cover image that displays as a banner at the top of the thread.
- When composing a thread, click Add Cover Image and upload an image.
- The cover image also appears as a thumbnail in thread listings (desktop view).
- Recommended dimensions: 1200 x 400 pixels.
