Thread Features
Threads are the core unit of discussion. Beyond posting and replying, threads support several features that help organize and highlight content.
Pinning
Moderators and admins can pin a thread to keep it at the top of a forum listing.
- Pinned threads show a pin icon and a highlight.
- A forum can have several pinned threads.
- To pin, open the thread actions menu and choose Pin Thread.
Locking
Locking a thread stops new replies while keeping the existing content readable.
- Locked threads show a lock icon.
- Anyone can still read a locked thread, but the reply box is disabled.
- Moderators and admins lock and unlock from the thread actions menu.
- A lock reason is optional but recommended.
Best Answer
In forums set up for questions and answers, the thread author or a moderator can mark a reply as the Best Answer.
- The best answer is highlighted with a green checkmark and pinned to the top of the replies.
- A "Solved" badge appears on the thread in listings.
- The author of the best answer gets recognition and a "helpful" stat.
To mark a best answer, click the checkmark on the reply you want.
Staff Pick
Moderators can mark a thread as a Staff Pick to recommend it.
- Staff-picked threads show a star badge and appear in the Staff Picks widget.
- The thread's author earns 100 credits when their thread is staff-picked.
- This is separate from pinning — a staff pick is a recommendation, not a positional override.
Crossposting
You can crosspost a thread to another forum.
- Open the thread actions menu and choose Crosspost.
- Pick a destination forum.
- A copy of the thread is created there, with an "Originally posted in [Original Forum]" note.
Each crosspost is its own thread in the destination forum. Replies are not shared between the original and the copy.
Sponsoring a Thread
If your community has credits enabled, a thread author can sponsor a thread for extra visibility.
- Sponsored threads appear in a highlighted section at the top of forum listings.
- Sponsoring spends credits, and you choose how many hours the sponsorship runs.
Bumping
You can bump a quiet thread back to the top of its forum.
- Bumping spends credits.
- It moves the thread up in the listing.
Cover Images
Threads can have an optional cover image shown as a banner at the top.
- When composing, choose Add Cover Image and upload one.
- The cover also appears as a thumbnail in thread listings on desktop.
- Recommended size: 1200 x 400 pixels.
