Modmail
Modmail is a private messaging channel between members and the moderation team. Use it when you need to report an issue, ask a question about the rules, or discuss a moderation action.
Sending a Modmail
- Click Modmail in the site navigation (or find it under the Help menu).
- Select the forum or category your message relates to (this routes the message to the right moderator team).
- Write your message. You can include links to specific posts or threads for context.
- Click Send.
Your message is delivered to all moderators assigned to that forum. Any moderator on the team can reply.
What Happens Next
- You receive a notification when a moderator responds.
- The conversation continues as a thread — you can send follow-up messages and the moderator team can discuss internally before responding.
- Modmail conversations are private. Only you and the moderation team can see them.
When to Use Modmail
Modmail is the right channel for:
- Reporting rule violations that need moderator attention.
- Asking about moderation actions taken on your content.
- Requesting help with something only staff can resolve (moving a thread, merging accounts, etc.).
- Sensitive topics that you do not want to discuss in public.
For general questions about how the platform works, consider posting in the community help forum instead — other members can help, and the answer benefits everyone.
Tips
- Be specific. Include links to the content in question and explain what you expect to happen.
- Be patient. Moderators are volunteers and may take a few hours to respond.
- One topic per modmail thread. If you have a separate issue, start a new conversation.
For Moderators
Moderators see all modmail for their assigned forums in the Moderation Panel > Modmail inbox. Features include:
- Internal notes — leave a note visible only to the mod team (not the member).
- Assign — route a conversation to a specific moderator.
- Close — mark the conversation as resolved (the member can reopen it by replying).
- Snooze — hide the conversation for a set period and resurface it later.
