Tags & Hashtags
Tags are labels you attach to threads to group them by topic. They work across forums, so a tag collects every thread on that topic no matter where it was posted. Tag pages are shown with a # in front of the name (for example, #photography), which is where the "hashtag" feel comes from.
Adding Tags
When composing a new thread, add tags in the Tags field below the title.
- Start typing to search existing tags.
- If no match is found, a new tag is created from what you typed.
- A leading
#is optional — type#c64orc64, you get the same tag. - You can add up to 5 tags per thread.
Tags come from the Tags field. Typing #word in the body of a post does not create or attach a tag — use the Tags field.
Browsing by Tag
Click any tag on a thread to see every thread sharing that tag. You can also open the full tag directory from the Tags page in the navigation.
The tag directory shows each tag's name, an optional description set by a moderator, and how many threads use it.
Subscribing to Tags
Subscribe to a tag to keep up with new threads on that topic.
- Open the tag page.
- Click Subscribe.
- New threads with that tag then show up in your feed.
Unsubscribe from the same page at any time.
Tag Moderation
Moderators and admins can:
- Rename a tag (every existing use updates automatically).
- Merge two tags into one (handy for duplicates like "photo" and "photography").
- Delete a tag (removes the label from all threads; the threads stay).
- Add a description to guide how a tag is used.
