# Tags & Hashtags
+ Tags are labels you attach to threads to categorize them by topic. Hashtags work the same way but are created inline by typing `#keyword` in your post content.
Tags are labels you attach to threads to group them by topic. They work across forums, so a tag collects every thread on that topic no matter where it was posted. Tag pages are shown with a `#` in front of the name (for example, `#photography`), which is where the "hashtag" feel comes from.

Tags come from the Tags field. Typing `#word` in the body of a post does not create or attach a tag — use the Tags field.
## Browsing by Tag
