Current state: Pinned threads, sponsored threads, and regular threads have subtle visual differentiation.
Proposed improvement: Stronger visual cues: colored left-border for pinned/sponsored, small badge icons (pin, fire, star), and distinct background tint. Makes scanning the thread list faster.

Resolved. Pinned threads now have a green left border and background tint with a thumbtack icon. Sponsored threads get an amber border and bullhorn icon. Staff picks show a blue border with a star icon. Locked threads display a lock icon. Answered threads show a green circle-check. All icons are Font Awesome for consistency.
