Mod Assignments & Moderator Applications

Manage moderator grants at Admin → Mod Assignments.

What a moderator grant is

Moderation is granted by scope, not as a single site-wide role. You can give a member moderation authority over a specific:

  • Forum
  • Category
  • File area
  • Game platform

A member can hold grants in some scopes and not others. This is separate from forum ownership, which is its own thing — see Resigning as Forum Owner and Admin: Forum Owner Reassignment.

Adding a moderator

  1. Click Add Moderator.
  2. Search for the member.
  3. Choose the scope (the forum, category, file area, or game platform).
  4. Save.

Reviewing applications

The Applications tab lists members who applied to moderate a forum. Open one to approve or deny it. See Moderator Applications.

Removing a moderator

Find the grant in the list and click Remove.
