Direct Messages
Private conversations between members. Supports one-on-one and group conversations.
Sending a Message
Click the chat icon in the bottom-right corner to open the messenger widget, or visit /messages for the full inbox view. Click "New Conversation" and search for a user by name or username.
Message Features
- Text formatting. Markdown supported in messages
- File attachments. Send images, documents, and other files
- Emoji reactions. Hover a message and click the smiley face to react with an emoji (thumbs up, heart, laugh, surprised, sad, fire)
- Read receipts. Sent messages show checkmarks: one (sent), double gray (delivered), double green (read)
- Typing indicator. See when the other person is typing
Privacy
- You can disable outbound read receipts in Account Settings so others cannot see when you have read their messages
- Block a user to prevent them from messaging you
