mobieusHealth: describe and voice logging
mobieusHealth lets a member log a whole meal by describing it in plain words — typed or dictated — instead of searching each food one at a time. Say or type "two eggs, a slice of toast and a black coffee" and mobieusHealth parses it into separate foods to confirm and log. Members find it on the food screen (the Describe action in the FatGuyFiles iOS app and the same describe-a-meal helper on the web). For the tracker as a whole, see mobieusHealth.
This is a wellness tracker, not medical advice.
How it works
- The member types the meal, or dictates it with their device's microphone (voice needs no extra setup — it's the system dictation).
- mobieusHealth breaks the sentence into individual foods and shows them in a list, each with its calories and a checkbox.
- Each food is matched against the food database for accurate numbers. Anything the database can't match is estimated with AI and marked as an estimate, so the member knows which is which.
- The member ticks the foods to keep and logs them into the chosen meal in one step.
Nothing is logged until the member confirms. Foods that were AI-estimated are saved to the member's own foods (deduplicated), so they're a normal one-tap search next time — see mobieusHealth: food data quality for how estimates are checked.
Turning it on
Describe-and-voice logging relies on mobieusAI to parse the sentence and estimate any misses, so the community needs mobieusAI enabled (see mobieusAI: the built-in AI helpers). Dictation is a device feature and needs nothing extra.
