mobieusHealth: Help Me coach
Help Me is a warm, in-the-moment life coach inside mobieusHealth — the button a member reaches for in a weak moment, when they want encouragement rather than another number. It reviews the progress a member has actually made, reminds them it counts, and talks them through the temptation with a few concrete, doable ideas. Members open it on the web at /health/coach and, in the FatGuyFiles iOS app, from the top of the quick-log button and The Analyst menu.
Help Me is a wellness feature — not a crisis service, a therapist, or medical advice.
What it does
Help Me opens with a simple question — "What's going on?" — and a handful of canned starting points (hungry, bored, stressed, low on willpower, "I feel like I've already blown it"). A member taps one or types their own. From there the coach:
- acknowledges what the member is feeling, warmly and without judgment;
- reminds them of the real progress in their own file — days logged, weight moved, a streak, or simply that they reached out instead of giving in — grounded only in their own numbers, never invented;
- offers a few concrete ways past the moment (a glass of water and a short wait, a walk, a lower-calorie swap, texting a friend).
It stays encouraging, never nagging or preachy, and it asks at most three questions before it gives a concrete suggestion.
Crisis awareness
Help Me is built to be safe. Every message a member sends is screened first for language suggesting self-harm or suicidal thinking — a deterministic check that runs even when mobieusAI is switched off. On a serious signal the coach does not pass the message to the AI model; it responds with warmth and points the member straight to real help:
- Call or text 988 — Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US), free, confidential, 24/7.
- Text HOME to 741741 — Crisis Text Line.
- Call 911 or go to the ER — if the member might act on the thoughts right now.
- findahelpline.com — free, confidential support lines in any country.
In the app these resources are tappable so the hotlines dial or text directly. The same crisis screen protects the mobieusHealth AI chat (The Analyst) too. mobieusHealth is a wellness app, never a crisis service.

The coach's conversational replies use mobieusAI, so the community needs mobieusAI enabled (see mobieusAI: the built-in AI helpers) for the full experience. The crisis-safety screen and its resources work regardless. mobieusHealth is a paid add-on; see mobieusHealth for enabling it.
